The Croatian Chamber of Electrical Engineers awarded a commendation to Mr. Darko Angebrandt, B.Sc. El.Eng. for his exceptional contribution to organizing Electrical Engineers’ Days as the chairman of the Organizing Committee for the period from 2014 to 2023. This recognition was presented to him in 2024.
The Croatian Chamber of Electrical Engineers commendation is made of 6 layers of transparent-glossy plexiglass, each 10 mm thick, with printing underneath each layer. The layers are arranged in the shape of a pyramid, which alludes to the somewhat pharaonic role of the award recipient. The textual elements of the commendation are placed underneath the previous layer, and when viewed from above, they align in a line reminiscent of a lightning bolt. The titles are not directly readable but are visible through the slots in the plexiglass, interacting with the refractions and reflections of the material itself.
The fragmented reflections of the letters evoke lightning spreading towards the ground like branches, but also hieroglyphs hidden within pyramids. This otherwise simple recognition gains its complexity through the interaction of font and material, effectively illustrating the chamber’s activity.
